Authorities in the capital hosted several activities yesterday in commemoration of the Peza Conference, which was held on the 16th of September 1942. “We strongly believe that one of the things that we should pass on to the next generation is memory. It’s the fact that we’re not a nation coming from nothing and that life did not begin today”, said the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
But, as it happens every year, communists were also present in these commemorations. “Our struggle and the struggle of the Communist Party were for freedom and independence against fascists and their collaborators. But, our alliance was with the great powers”, said one of them.
