Students move their protest inside faculties

Boycott by being inside university premises. This was the form of protest that students in many faculties chose. The boycott continued by taking tables and chairs out on the corridors. This situation at the Polytechnic University led to a clash between protesting students and police. Students of the Faculty of History and Philology not only have boycotted classes, but also the streets. Yesterday, a part of them decided to continue the protest inside their faculty’s premises and with megaphones in their hands they have reiterated their list of demands. Meanwhile, some students decided to attend classes for fear of failing a whole academic year. Others challenged the rain and marched toward the Ministry of Education, where they appealed for their demands to be met. Students have also submitted their platform, which in essence foresees a quicker solution to their demands. Their main demands are the abrogation of the law on higher education and an immediate increase of investments in universities. Afterwards, students continued to march toward the Prime Minister’s office. Meanwhile, the protest is expected to continue today at 11 am.

Ministry of Education requests universities to inform students on tuition fees

 The Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth have asked universities all over the country to inform students on the total number that will benefit a reduction of tuition fees and a full scholarship. The ministry issued a press release stating that it has requested information on the total number of students who meet the criteria. The Ministry of Education has also warned anyone who misinforms the public about the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers.
