The third edition of Tirana Marathon took place today with the participation of 2500 runners from 40 countries of the world. The male marathon winner was Abel Kibet Rop from Kenya, while the female winner was the Albanian athlete, Luiza Gega.
“Tirana Marathon is the biggest sport activity in the capital. This marathon was an unprecedented success for the third year in a row, where we didn’t see just people running, but we also saw different social causes being promoted”, declared the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj who also distributed awards for the winners of the marathon. Meanwhile, the minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Lindita Nikolla was also present during the ceremony for the distribution of the awards.
