National theater: Minister Kumbaro meets artists
The public debate over the future of the building of the National Theater has led to the minister of Culture, MirelaKumbaro to hold a meeting with actors of this theater. Participating in the meeting were actors BujarAsqeriu, ArtanImami, Spiro Duni and LaertVasili. Addressing to the minister of Culture, BujarAsqeriu told the minister that she should go and meet the artists inside the premises of the National Theater. “We had agreed for you to come and talk to us in the premises of the National Theater and not for us to come at your office”, he said, adding that “theaters in other areas of the country are dead. I don’t care about money, I live about the theater. We ask you to value and respect the artists, honorable minister”, Asqeriu said.

On the other hand, actor Artanimami said that immediate measures should be taken in regards to the national Theater, adding that the debate has often been productive. “I would like to join this protest and to me, it’s unfair that we should move to other premises”, Imami said. According to him, he felt really ashamed when he met other actors, as the situation at the National Theater is outrageous. Meanwhile, actor LaertVasili said that the National Theater should be able to function in a way that it attracts more funds. “If it’s possible, the National Theater should keep the money coming from tickets”, he said. On her part, minister Kumbaro said that the bill on art and culture has been published to prompt debates and suggestions, which have started to come from all municipalities in the country.
